I'm safe I'm in doors I hear you say, well you maybe but is your valuable Computer? I have a policy, if lighting & rain is in the area even if it's 5-10km away, best too unplug than be sorry! And when I say unplug that means everything, ADSL line out of Router/Modem, network cables out, computers not just switched off but unplugged out wall socket. I have seen first hand what lighting does to computers and if it's built-in like on a laptop you in for a pretty sight (hole in motherboard to possible fire) and a very costly bill.

With rainy season comes the possibility of flooding (again I have experienced first hand this), a flood damaged pc/laptop doesn't work quite so well after it has been exposed to water or silt.

Dust is your enemy

Too much heat is not the best thing either, this causes your computer's fans to over work to keep your machine cool, and if they are gummed up by dust eventually they will pack in and fail. Thus blowing vital components. Just as with too much heat so is too much cold bad too, this causes condensation to form inside the computer thus possibly shorting out electrical components.

Try and keep your PC/Laptop fan airways free of blockages, if you hear a fan on your computer making one heck of a noise, i.e. not silent, get it looked at promptly by (Contacting me for a Preventative Maintenance/Servicing Quote), there maybe a imminent failure which could cause either a component to blow e.g. if it's the power supply fan, your psu will over heat and blow. Iin the case of a laptop, if your fan starts making a whrrr noise or sound like it's struggling to rotate this may be the start or major damage, a non functioning fan will not cool down the cpu (Central Processing Unit) properly, if this over heats you will have a major repair bill.
